The Black Sea

Bulgaria’s east coast is washed by the Black Sea.380 kilometers of marvelous sand strip, calm and pure sea, healing climate, fine golden sand and sand dunes, mineral springs, resorts, winners of the Blue Flag award, holiday villages and camping sites. The average temperature in the summer is approximately 28-29, the water temperature – 26-27.

Picturesque bays and queer-looking cliffs, vast beaches with sand dunes and warm sea make for the attractive power of the south Black Sea coast. The shore is bordered on the north by the last mountain spurs of Stara Planina, on the south – by the Strandja’s uplands.

Nessebar

Nessebar is one of the most ancient cities in Europe, famous for its antique monuments and magnificent architecture of the Middle Ages and the Bulgarian National Revival.

The city is situated on a small, rocky peninsula in the Northern part of the Bay of Burgas, 37 kilometers away northeastern of the city of Burgas and 420 kilometers east from Sofia.

Nesebar is proclaimed an archeological and architectural reserve. Nesebar’s cultural monuments are included in the list of the world’s cultural legacy under the auspices of UNESCO. Today the city is among the most visited Bulgarian seaside resorts.

Nessebar is one of the most ancient cities in Europe. It is a heir of an ancient Thracian settlement of Mesembria, founded in the second millennium BC. There used to be a theatre and a temple of the god Appolo there.

Money of silver and bronze were coined there and during 3c BC – even of gold. It begins playing a significant role again in ²²²-²Vc. Since Õ²c. Along with Mesembria, the Slavic name Mesebar and Nesebar are also used.

Sunny Beach

Sunny Beach is situated 42 kilometers away north of the city of Burgas and 434km away east of the city of Sofia.

The resort disposes with more than 300 hotels, children camping sites and various entertainment spots. The list with the entertainments offered by the seaside resort is long: surfing, water ski, yachts, tennis-clubs, horse base, bowling, outdoors and indoors swimming pools, mini-golf. There are a lot of restaurants and shops in the resort. A polyclinic is built and there are some tenths big grocery shops, clothing stores, souvenir shops as well as an amphitheatre with 1000 seats.

The excitement in the resort can be felt also in the nighttime when the entertainments are quite various. The nightclubs, discos and restaurants offer various show programs.
